What better critique of Husserl’s thought than a nightmare? Neither is it an active, conscious synthesis; nor a passive, backgrounded synthesis. The nightmare, an active perceptual production sans conscious ground, an active synthesis that totally escapes any schematism (as ungrounded, productive activity).
